 | Jeremy Henry - Artistic Director
Having lived in Chicago for nearly a year, Mr. Henry is currently working on his fifth production here in Chicago as director for Toy Soldiers - A New Musical. Other directing credits include this past springs production of The Last Five Years, which had a successful run at the Apollo theatre before its extension at the Royal George. Mr. Henry came to Chicago with one goal, to establish a resource for college students just graduating, giving them an open door into the theatre community. "When I graduated from Florida State, I came up to Chicago not knowing what to do or where to go and it was terrifying! I don't want to see other fresh, new thespians going through that, especially if I can give them an open door through which they can step into an amazing, challenging, and fundemental new world with their feet planted firmly on the ground! Theatre for an artist is all about being in an environment that allows you to be safe and vulnerable to do your work. My hope is that Towards A Poor Theatre Company can give that sense of freedom!"
